SPAIN – The Spanish National Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters (ANIEME) has published the Spanish furniture sector’s foreign trade report for January-September 2023 (9M-2023).
In 9M-2023, Spain’s furniture exports experienced a 4% increase, reaching EUR 2,268.2 million (9M-2022: EUR 2,181.5 million).
According to the export destination of Spanish furniture, France continues in its leading position with 28% of the total, with a slight growth of 0.8% in the first nine months of 2023.
After France, the European countries with the highest growth in their purchases of Spanish furniture include Portugal (+6.3%), Italy (+7.2%) and Belgium (+13.2%).
The United Kingdom, despite Brexit, maintains its upward pace of growth with a significant increase of 15.6% in the first nine months of 2023.
Morocco (+7.3%) is also a very important market, not only because of its size and geographical proximity, but also because of the number of projects being carried out that need to be furnished, which contributes to the positive result recorded.
The United States, despite remaining in third place in the ranking of destinations for Spanish furniture, shows a decline of 9.5% in 9M-2023. This is undoubtedly a market that it is essential to continue supporting in order to recover the volume of sales, as well as for the enormous business opportunities it presents.
