Slight Increase in Value of Peruvian Particleboard Imports in 2022

PERU – The value of Peruvian particleboard imports (PB / MDP) reached USD 161.96 million in 2022 (2021: USD 159.45 million). An annual record and a slight year-on-year increase of 1.6 percent.

1019PERÚ Peruvian Homecenters, with a 127.2 percent increase over 2021, was the ninth largest importer of PB/MDP with USD 1.59 million in the year.  This figure was lower than the USD 69.21 million imported by Novopan Peru, the country’s leading importer.  Even so, it was the largest increase among the main PB/MDP importers in the country in 2022.

Representaciones Martin was the second largest PB/MDP importer with USD 34.54 million in 2022, a 7.6 percent drop compared to 2021 (USD 37.39 million).

Arauco Peru’s imports grew 7.6 percent, reaching USD 15.80 million in 2022 (2021: USD 14.69 million), while Masisa Peru’s imports grew 14.6 percent, reaching USD 10.30 million (2021: USD 8.99 million).

Ecuador was again the main supplier country of PB / MDP to Peru in 2022 with shipments of USD 70.69 million, representing an increase of 4.1 percent (2021: USD 67.92 million).

Spain confirms its position as second supplier country with USD 35.06 million, a 9.2 percent drop from the USD 38.59 million shipped to Peru in 2021.

Chile, with a growth of 24.3 percent, overtook Brazil as the third supplier country in 2022 with USD 25.78 million (2021: USD 20.73 million). Brazil followed with USD 23.60 million (2021: USD 23.10 million).
