ECUADOR – Ecuadorian exports of particleboard / MDP amounted to USD 8.26 million in October 2017, an increase of 1.4% compared to the same period of 2016 when they reached USD 8.15 million.

Colombia and Peru were once again the main export markets for Ecuadorian particleboard / MDP in October 2017. Exports to Colombia amounted to USD 5.09 million (October 2016: USD 4.59 million), presenting a growth of 10.9% in comparison with the same month of 2016. Exports of Ecuadorian particleboard / MDP to Peru fell 2.5% in October 2017 to USD 2.77 million compared to USD 2.84 million in October-2016.

Exports to Panama, the third largest market, showed a sharp drop of 37.7% from USD 299 thousand in October-2016 to USD 186 thousand in the same period of 2016. Bolivia, the fourth market, also presented a strong drop of 51.9% to USD 61 thousand in October 2017 (October-2016: USD 128 thousand).

Exports of Novopan del Ecuador, the main exporting company, were up 4.3% in October 2017 to USD 8.12 million (October-2016: USD 7.78 million).
