BRAZIL – Brazilian exports of wooden furniture had a slight drop (-0.8%) in the first nine months (9M) of 2019, reaching USD 372.1 million compared to USD 375.1 million in the same period of 2018.

Chile, which surpassed Peru, with an increase of 8.2%, was the main South American market for Brazilian wood furniture, with USD 25.6 million in 9M-2018 compared to USD 23.7 million in the same period of 2018. Peru with a sharp decline 18.6% was the second most important regional market, with USD 21.7 million (9M-2018: USD 26.7 million). Uruguay followed with USD 19.9 million and a 3.6% drop compared to 9M-2018 (USD 20.6 million).
The fastest growing markets for Brazilian wood furniture exports were Canada, from USD 8.6 million in 9M-2018 to USD 12.7 million in 9M-2019 for a 47.5% growth; and France with a growth of 23.6% reaching USD 12.3 million in 9M-2019 compared to USD 9.9 million in the same period of 2018.
