Significant Growth in Panama’s Particleboard Imports in First Half 2024

PANAMA – In the first six months of 2024, Panama’s particleboard/MDP imports increased by 48.3% compared to the same period in 2023, totaling USD 7,122,364.

The leading supplier countries were Ecuador, with an 18.3% increase (USD 2,263,045 ), compared to the same period 2023. Spain, which saw a remarkable 145.1% rise (USD 1,780,609), and Brazil, with an impressive 176.4% growth (USD 1,759,390 ). Conversely, Chile experienced a 52.6% decrease, totaling USD 442,629.

Among Panamanian importers, Komex Internacional led the market with a 151.9% increase, reaching USD 2,340,576 USD. It was followed by Formica Distribution Center with a 6.8% growth (USD 1,864,433). On the other hand, Empresas Melo faced a 48.5% decline, with imports totaling USD 404,296. Other importers also saw significant increases, totaling USD 1,872,877 combined.
