BRAZIL – The value of Brazilian particleboard exports (PB / MDP) reached USD 41.44 million in the first six months of 2023 (6M-2023).
This represented a significant drop of 36.0 percent, compared to USD 64.78 million exported in the same period of the previous year.
Brazilian exports of PB / MDP to China (USD 7.98 million), presented a very strong decrease in 6M-2023, of 59.2 percent, placing China as the third largest export market for the Brazilian particleboard in the period. Shipments to Peru in 6M-2023, the main foreign market, fell 41.4 percent to USD 9.85 million (6M-2022: USD 16.82 million).
Bolivia remained as the third most important market for the Brazilian particleboard in 6M-2023 with USD 8.32 million, representing a drop of 7.2 percent.
Rio Grande Do Sul, with PB / MDP exports of USD 18.50 million in 6M-2023, surpassed Santa Catarina (USD 11.73 million) and was the main Brazilian PB/MDP exporting state in the first half of 2023.
Followed by Sao Paulo, which grew its PB / MDP exports 21.5 percent, from USD 7.20 million in 6M-2022 to USD 8.75 million in 6M-2023.
