SCM Group obtains € 50 million credit for R&D

ITALY- SCM Group, a world leader in technologies for processing a wide range of materials and industrial components, announced the disbursement by the European Investment Bank (EIB) of an unsecured credit line of 50 million euros, with a 7-year duration.

830SCM1 The credit line covers 50% of the Research and Development (R&D) investments planned by the Italian Group for the 2017-2020 four-year period, for a total sum of over 100 million euros. The objective of these investments is to develop products and services based on technological solutions that are even more efficient, flexible and easier to use for the end customer, which can guarantee production processes in line with the new requirements of smart manufacturing and industry. 4.0 and encourage greater sustainability in the use of resources.

“Technological innovation has been, since the first steps taken in Rimini in the early 1950s, one of the main assets of the SCM Group which invests 7% of its turnover every year”, says Marco Mancini, General Manager. “This funding goes to further strengthen and diversify the financial structure of the SCM Group, guaranteeing part of the resources necessary to invest in those research and development activities that are fundamental in order to support our customers in the development of their business and to continue the Group’s growth path in an increasingly competitive global market”.
