USA – The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is pleased to announce Sarah Kutulakos as the first Regional Director for North America, effective January 1, 2025.
This appointment marks a key step in FSC’s expansion and reinforces its mission to promote responsible forest management in the U.S. and Canada.
Kutulakos, an experienced executive with a strong background in multinational business, will lead FSC’s efforts to meet the increasing demand for responsibly sourced forest products. Her leadership will enhance FSC’s presence and foster deeper connections in the region.
“This is an exciting moment for FSC in North America,” said Lieske van Santen, FSC Global Network Director. “Sarah’s leadership will strengthen our global mission, helping us better support members and partners in the U.S. and Canada. Her experience in growing organizations makes her perfect for this role.”
Under Kutulakos, FSC North America will focus on sustainable forest management, supporting Indigenous Peoples and Native Americans, and driving sustainability in the construction industry. She will also champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in the forestry sector.
“I’m honored to lead FSC during this transformative time,” said Sarah Kutulakos. “I look forward to expanding FSC’s impact in North America.”
Her appointment coincides with other leadership changes at FSC, with Sarah Billig as President of FSC US and Monika Patel as President of FSC Canada, both starting in 2025. This leadership team will help drive FSC’s mission forward in North America.
