CANADA –   The 2025 International Conference on Wood Adhesives (ICWA), organized by the Forest Products Society (FPS), was held at the University of British Columbia, bringing together leading researchers, manufacturers, and professionals from around the world to explore the latest developments in wood bonding technologies.

Over three days, the event featured more than 50 technical presentations and two panel discussions addressing topics such as bio-based adhesives, sustainable resin systems, durability testing, and innovative engineered wood applications.

“The technical level of the presentations remains unmatched, showcasing all major innovations,” said Charles Markessini, Vice President of R&D at Chimar and member of the ICWA Organizing Committee. “It’s where science, vision, and business opportunities meet—an event that connects pioneers with the next generation of innovators.”

The conference’s gold sponsors included Arclin, Hexion, and Willamette Valley Co., with Chimar, Henkel, Silvteam, and Vinivil as silver sponsors, and Borregaard as bronze sponsor. EcoSynthenix and Polymer Synergies supported the event as student scholarship benefactors.

Recognized for over three decades as the leading international event in wood adhesive technology, ICWA 2025 welcomed more than 200 participants from over 100 organizations, including major wood industry players such as Arauco, Boise Cascade, Georgia-Pacific, IKEA, LP Building Solutions, Plummer Forest Products, Roseburg, Weaver Brothers Pallets, and West Fraser.
