BRAZIL – The 13th edition of Fimma Brazil, which closed its doors on March 31, culminated with a positive balance: an estimated USD 290 million in business, more than 25,000 visitors, 360 exhibitors and 500 brands.
The fifth largest fair in the world in the segment of the furniture industry, FIMMA Brasil 2017, took place in one of the worst economic moments experienced in Brazil and in the productive sector, which represented a great challenge for its organizer, Movergs. According to the president of the 2017 edition, Rogério Francio, the activity during the four days of the fair has confirmed the importance of the sector for the national economy, which is beginning to show a turnaround reaction to the bad situation created in the last two years. “United at the fair, despite all the difficulties, was the right decision,” concluded the executive, who added: “The crisis and the recession make entrepreneurs more cautious. Never the less, we need courage to promote change, to invest and to believe. The ‘machine’ can’t stop, or the country stops. The fair was a ray of light of business confidence.”
