Portugal’s Prebuild Construction Group Consolidates in Colombia

COLOMBIA (Notifix.) – The Colombian construction company EKKO, recently acquired by the Portuguese Prebuild Group, signed a contract on February 4, with the Colombian Ministry of Housing, City and Territory to build 1,079 homes of 54 square meters.

The homes are part of the government’s Priority Interest Housing program of the Colombian government to deliver free housing to low-income families, in this case those in the Comuna 7, one of the poorest areas of the city of Barrancabermeja.

With the acquisition of EKKO by Prebuild, was transferred to this company a business portfolio for the coming years of USD 600 million previously captured by Prebuild Colombia. This portfolio includes offices in Bogotá, several luxury residential buildings in the cities of Bogotá and Yopal, a five star W hotel of the Starwood chain in Bogotá, social housing construction projects in different parts of the country, and the construction of industrial parks totaling more than 100,000 square meters
