PERU – The value of Peruvian imports of wooden furniture grew 36.5% in June 2023 and reached USD 4.2 million, compared to USD 3.1 million in June of the previous year.
Brazil, as usual, was the main wooden furnture supplier country to the Peruvian market in June 2023 with shipments of USD 2.56 million, representing 60.6% of total furniture imports in the month. It was followed by China (USD 708.5 thousand), Spain (USD 281.9 thousand) and Colombia (USD 267.9 thousand).
The main Peruvian importers of wooden furniture in the month were Homecenters Peruanos with its Promart store brand, which reached USD 1.07 million and Sodimac / Maestro, the home improvement stores of the Falabella group, with USD 990.6 thousand . Compared to June 2022, they represented increases of 120.6% and 12.2%, respectively.
Consolidated imports of the country’s two main home improvement chains (Promart and Sodimac/Maestro) accounted for 48.6% of total wood furniture imports into Peru in June 2023, compared to 44.0% in June 2022.
