Peruvian Particleboard imports up 27.3% in First Half 2022

PERU – Peruvian imports of particleboard (PB / MDP) reached USD 93.51 million in January – June period 2022 (6M-2021: USD 73.44 million). A record for the first six months of the year and a year-on-year growth of 27.3 per cent compared to same period 2021.

963PERÚ2 Grupo Yofasa, with an increase of 321.5 per cent compared to 6M-2021, was the sixth largest importer of PB/MDP with USD 3.59 million in the period.  This was below the USD 34.12 million imported by Novopan Peru the main importer in the country.  Still it was the highest increase among the top PB / MDP importing companies in the country in 6M-2022.

Representaciones Martin was the second importing company with PB / MDP imports of USD 21.17 million in 6M-2022, an increase of  24.0 per cent compared to the same period in 2021 (6M-2021: USD 17.06 million).

Arauco Peru’s imports were up 25.4 per cent, reaching USD  9.77 million in 6M-2022 (6M-2021: USD 7.79 million) while Maderas America imports grew 29.8 per cent reaching USD 7.08 million in the period (6M-2021: USD 5.45 million).

Ecuador was again the main PB / MDP supplier country to Peru in 6M-2022 with shipments of USD 34.68 million which represented an  increase of 15.3 per cent (6M-2021: USD 30.08 million).

Spain strengthens its position as the second largest supplier country with USD 21.75 million, an increase of 25.5 per cent  compared to the USD 17.34 million shipped to Peru in the first half 2021.

Brazil, with a 45.3 percent growth, was the third supplier country in 6M-2022 with USD 17.25  million (6M-2021: USD 11.87 million).

It was followed by Chile with USD 15.10 million (6M-2021: USD 9.46 million). The highest growth among the main supplier countries to the Peruvian market in 6M-2022 (59.6 per cent).
