Peruvian particleboard imports down 11.2% in 1S/2015

PERU – Particleboard imports in Peru reached USD 35.4 million in the January – June period, an 11.2% drop compared to USD 39.8 million reached in the same period 2014.

Novopan Peru maintained its position as the leading importer with a 39.1% share of total imports (2014: 41.8%) and USD 13.8 million (2014: USD 16.7 million), that represent a 16.9% drop, compared to same period 2014. Martin Group was the only one of the main importers that grew during the first semester of 2015 with imports of USD 5.9 million compared to USD 3.8 million in the same period 2014.

With a drop of 25.2% Interforest recorded the biggest decrease among the main importers followed by Masisa Peru (-24.8%) and Arauco Peru (-19.6%).
