PERU – Peruvian imports of PB / MDP reached USD 103.2 million in 2018, representing an increase compared to the previous year of 19.2% (2017: USD 86.6 million).

With a significant increase of 21.8% and USD 39.7 million (2017: USD 32.5 million), Ecuador once again stood out as the main PB / MDP supplier country to the relevant Peruvian market. Followed by Chile, with USD 30.9 million (2017: USD 27.7 million) and an improvement of 11.7%.

Brazil, with a remarkable increase of 46.1%, was the PB / MDP supplier country that grew the most, totaling in 2018 exports to Peru of USD 15.9 million (2017: USD 10.9 million). Surpassing Spain, which reached USD 15.5 million in PB /MDP exports to Peru (2017: USD 11.9 million), an increase of 29.4% in comparison with the previous year.

The main importing company in 2018 was again Novopan Peru, with USD 38.7 million (2017: USD 31.3 million) and a significant increase of 23.8% and a 37.5% market share of total Peruvian imports of PB / MDP in 2018, an increase of 1.4 percentage points compared to 2017 (36.1%). Arauco Peru followed with USD 16.1 million, which represented a slight drop of 1.0% and a 15.6% share of total Peruvian imports for the year (2017: 18.7%).

Representaciones Martin with the highest growth (29.7%) among the main importers, besting Masisa Peru, was the third largest importer with USD 15.5 million (2017: USD 11.4 million).
