PERU (Notifix). – Peru registers a sharp increase in particleboard imports as figures for the first two months of 2013 become available. During the period total Peruvian particleboard imports reached USD 14.2 million, against USD 8.7 million totaled in the equivalent 2012 period.
Chile became Peru’ main supplier as Chilean MDP exports to Peru reached USD 6.5 million in the first two months of 2013 compared to USD 1.6 million in 2012, an increase of 307%. Chile surpassed Ecuador who exported USD 4.9 million in the period compared to USD 4.6 million in 2012. Spain was the third supplying country in the period with USD 1.7 million.
