PANAMA – The value of Panamanian wooden furniture imports had a slight decrease of 0.7% in 2023. Reaching USD 49.33 million, compared to USD 49.65 million in 2022.
The Leading supplying country in 2023 was China that surpassed Italy, with furniture exports to Panama valued at USD 8.88 million, marking a an increase of 5.3% compared to the previous year (2022: USD 8.44 million).
Italy and Brazil followed closely as the second and third supplying countries to the Panamanian market, contributing USD 8.24 million and USD 8.09 million respectively in 2023, with Italy decreasing 11.5%, while Brazil had the most notable growth, increasing 44.6%, compared to 2022.
Colombia was the next supplying country in importance with exports of wooden furniture to Panama of USD 6.32 million in 2023.
Muebles Jamar Panama and Tova S.A. were the main wooden furniture importers in Panama in 2023 with USD 7.25 million and USD 3.80 million respectively.
