PANAMA – The value of Panama’s wood furniture imports in the first 5 months of 2023 (5M-2023) fell 5.6 percent from USD 20.46 million in 5M-2022 to USD 19.32 million in 5M-2023.
Italy was the main supplier of wood furniture to Panama in 5M-2023, with shipments worth USD 4.48 million, 3.6 percent more than in the same period of the previous year (5M-2022: USD 4.32 million).
Brazil was the second largest supplier country with USD 2.74 million in 5M-2023, 3.6% above the same period of the previous year (5M-2022: USD 2.64 million). It was followed by China with USD 2.70 million, Colombia with USD 2.29 million and the United States with USD 1.60 million.
Colombia was the supplier country with the highest growth in wood furniture shipments to the Panamanian market in 5M-2023 with an improvement of 41.8 percent over 5M-2022 (USD 1.61 million).
Panama was the largest wood furniture importing country in Central America and the Caribbean in 5M-2023.
