ECUADOR (Notifix).- In the 2012 Ekos Magazine ranking of the top 1000 Ecuadorian companies, the wood and furniture sector is well represented. Novopan is the top ranked company of the industry in the 155th slot.

Sales for Novopan, the main particleboard manufacturer in the country, were the highest with USD 101,7 million compared to USD 87,3 in 2011 (+16,5%). This relevant growth was basically leveraged on exports of laminated particleboard (MDP) that went from USD 47,5 million in 2011 to USD 61,3 million in 2012 (+29%).

The second company to register was Edimca (ranked 225), the leader in distribution of components for the furniture industry, with sales of USD 74,7 million compared to USD 72,4 million in 2011 (+3.2%). Followed by Acosa, ranked 329, the only MDF manufacturer in the country, with sales of USD 52,8 million (2011: 49 million). Colineal had the highest sales among furniture manufacturers with USD 36 million in 2012.
