BRAZIL – The pandemic brought new market prospects for the furniture sector and to Movelsul Brasil.
With a strong tradition in promoting exports, the fair managed to articulate a virtual business environment for the furniture chain, even with the postponement of its next edition to 2022.
In November and December, Movelsul organized 320 virtual meetings between 85 Brazilian companies and 48 importers, with the expectation of generating USD 35 million in exports.
The meetings, with the support of the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), took place on a digital platform developed especially for this project, which allowed companies to register their product portfolio and schedule rounds with buyers adhering to each manufacturer profile. In addition to furniture importers, importers and distributors of materials for the furniture manufacturer, international e-commerce retailers, design stores and Brazilian furniture and decoration retailers were invited to participate.
There were 18 participating countries: Netherlands Antilles, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, United States, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Kenya, Dominican Republic, Senegal and Uruguay.
