MEXICO – On April 3, 2014 local furniture hardware manufacturer FINCSA (Fundición Inyectada del Centro, S.A. de C.V.), requested the initiation of the administrative investigation of unfair trade practices in the form of price discrimination, on imports of steel and zinc alloy handles, manufactured in China, regardless of country of origin.
In addition to statements of manufacturers and importers, on September 22, 2014 the Mexican Association of Suppliers of the Wood and Furniture Industry (AMPIMM) express to the investigating body dissatisfaction with the application brought by FINCSA.
After the preliminary investigation, the Ministry of Economy of Mexico reported in May that it is continuing the investigation process and imposed a provisional countervailing duty of US $ 13.15 per kilogram on imports of steel and zamac handles, entering Mexico through the tariff 8302.42.99 and 8302.49. 99 of the TIGIE, or otherwise, manufactured in China, regardless of country of origin.
