ARGENTINA – As Fitecma toured the world’s main woodworking trade fairs, it found great interest from the leading brands of Industry 4.0 technologies to come to Argentina and present them to the market, thus setting the course for FITECMA 2019.
In the wood, woodworking and furniture industry, the subject “integrated production – customized solutions” appeared barely four or five years ago, as of the emergence of the use of Industry 4.0 technologies. This brought about the arrival at the market of a range of smart technologies taking advantage of global data integration within the company to optimize results.
Across the world, companies related to woodworking processes are in a continuous search to meet new market demands with the use of very diverse materials and customized products. And in order to do so in a competitive way they resort increasingly to automation and digitalization.
Digitalized production is already an operational reality in many industrial scale companies. And also small and medium companies with value-added processes are beginning to see that the main benefit from digitalization is efficiency. Experts claim Industry 4.0 will in brief have to reach all companies no matter their size.
Digitalization is driving innovation in the woodworking industry. And connectivity is applied both to production systems of individual lots with a high degree of automation and to totally or individually configurable tools. And this concept is spreading along the whole production chain, from forest technology, furniture, door and window manufacturing, floors, up to tool systems and surface technologies.
Innovation, digitalization, automation, Industry 4.0 technologies are setting the course at the next FITECMA, where knowledge and market will meet from 2-6 July, 2019 in Costa Salguero Center, Buenos Aires.
