The report also highlights the positive effect of the progress of building materials demand, considering that the construction sector growth is expected at around 10% in 2013.
This important sales rise was due to an increase in sales area during 2012 with 12 new store openings, doubling openings in 2011, and a performance improvement in existing stores. The report estimates that the total market size for hardware and home improvement is of USD 4 billion of which hardware stores have a 78% market share and home improvement retail chains 22%.
