ECUADOR – Ecuadorian particleboard / MDP exports amounted to USD 82.4 million in the first 11 months (11M) of 2016, an increase of 12.3% compared to the same period of 2015 when they reached USD 73.4 million.

Colombia and Peru were once again the main export markets for Ecuadorian particleboard in the 11M period of 2016. Exports to Colombia amounted to USD 46.1 million, up 12.2% compared 11M-2015 when they reached USD 41.1 million. Exports to Peru amounted to USD 30.8 million, a 13.2% increase compared to 2015 (USD 27.2 million).

Exports to Panama, the third largest export market, registered a significant growth of 27% as they went from USD 1.9 million in 11M-2015 to USD 2.5 million in 11M-2016. While the Bolivian market, the fourth in importance for Ecuadorian MDP, fell 9.1% to a total of USD 1.3 million in the first eleven months of 2016 (2015: USD 1.4 million).
