PERU (Notifix).- Peru is the fastest growing external market for Brazilian furniture in the region. In the first five months of the year Peruvian imports of Brazilian furniture totaled USD 16.356.114, 37% more than the same period 2012. Colombia was the second fastest growing market with purchases of USD 5.830.201, a 27.8% increase.
In total, Brazilian exports to South American countries reached USD 109.927.685, a 5.3% hike over the same period prior year. Venezuela was the exception to the growth trend. Imports of Brazilian furniture in the January- May period were down 52.4% as they totaled USD 4.682.178 (2012: USD 9.844.541).
