Ecuadorian Particleboard Exports Surpass USD 200 million in 2024

ECUADOR – Ecuador’s particleboard (MDP) exports totaled USD 201.24 million in 2024, marking a slight increase of 1.5% compared to USD 198.26 million in 2023.

The largest export markets for Ecuadorian particleboard remained Colombia, with exports rising 1.1% to USD 107.04 million, and Peru, despite a 4.8% decline to USD 68.29 million. Mexico saw a significant growth of 24.8%, with exports reaching USD 4.82 million, while exports to the USA grew by 27.4%, totaling USD 4.66 million.

Other notable increases include Guatemala, where exports jumped 63.3% to USD 2.47 million. On the other hand, Panama experienced a slight drop of 0.2%, and exports to the USA, Mexico, and Panama also declined from the previous year.

Among the top exporters, Novopan Del Ecuador remained the dominant player with USD 198.36 million in exports, a 1.5% rise from 2023. Aglomerados Cotopaxi saw an increase of 3.0%, reaching USD 2.83 million.

Despite fluctuations in certain markets, Ecuador’s particleboard industry maintained steady growth in export value in 2024, driven by a mix of stable regional demand and expanded markets like Guatemala and Mexico.
