ECUADOR – Ecuadorian particleboard/MDP exports reached USD 23.3 million in the first quarter of 2017, an increase of 12.1% compared to the same period 2016 when they reached USD 20.8 million.

Colombia and Peru were once again the main export markets for Ecuadorian particleboard in the first quarter of 2017. Exports to Colombia amounted to USD 14.35 million (1Q-2016: USD 12.53 million), up 14.5% Compared to the same period 2016. Exports to Peru also performed favorably totaling USD 7.83 million, representing a 10% growth compared to USD 7.12 million in 1Q-2016.

Exports to Panama, the third largest market, showed a significant growth of 31.9% from USD 447,071 in 1Q-2016 to USD 589,767 in 1Q-2017. Bolivia, the fourth largest market, posted a 40.8% drop to USD 232,626 in 1Q-2017 (1Q-2016: USD 392,662).
