ECUADOR – In the first six months of 2021 (6M-2021) Ecuadorian exports of Particleboard/MDP reached USD 84.27 million compared to USD 42.85 million in the same period of 2020, representing a remarkable growth of 96.7 percent.
With respect to 6M-2019, Ecuadorian exports of Particleboard/MDP grew 37.5 percent.
While in the same period of 2021 Brazilian exports of Particleboard/MDP were USD 45.37 million and those of Chile reached USD 39 million. This represented growths of 13 and 15.2 percent respectively compared to 6M-2020, and 12.1 and 7.3 percent compared to 6M-2019.
In 6M-2021, Ecuadorian exports of Particleboard/MDP accounted for 49.9 percent of total exports by the region’s three main exporting countries, while Brazilian exports accounted for 26.9 percent and Chilean exports for 23.1 percent.
Compared to 6M-2020, the share of Ecuadorian Particleboard/MDP exports in the total exports of the three main exporting countries improved by 13.3 percentage points. While the shares of Brazil and Chile fell by 7.4 and 5.8 percent respectively. Thus consolidating Ecuador as the main regional exporter of Particleboard/MDP.
