ECUADOR – The total export value for particleboard (PB/MDP) from Ecuador amounted to USD 151,97 million in the January – September period 2023 (9M-2023), marking an 8.8% drop from the previous year’s figure of USD 166,62 million in 9M-2022.
Novopan, Ecuador’s primary PB/MDP exporter, led the export performance in 9M-2023. However, their exports also saw a decrease, falling 8.9% to USD 149.96 million (9M-2022: 164.57 million), accounting for 98.7% of the total exports during the nine month period.
The most significant foreign market for Ecuador’s particleboard remained Colombia, with shipments of Ecuadorian PB/MDP amounting to USD 81.30 million in 9M-2023. This marked an important decline of 18.5% when compared to the previous year’s figure of USD 99.77 million in 9M-2022.
Peru, as the second most important foreign market for Ecuador’s particleboard in 9M-2023, recorded purchases worth USD 55.54 million, signifying a 6.5% increase from the same period in 2022 when it was USD 52.16 million. Together, Peru and Colombia made up 90.1% of the total value of Ecuador’s particleboard exports in 9M-2023, compared to 91.2% in the same period of 2022.
