ECUADOR – With exports for USD 61.3 million in the first six months of 2019 (6M-2019) Ecuador surpassed Brazil (6M-2019: USD 40.3 million) and Chile (6M-2019: USD 36.7 million) and consolidated as the principal exporting country of Particleboard (PB) / MDP in Latin America.
Consolidated exports of the top three PB/MDP exporting countries to Colombia in 6M-2019 reached USD 47.4 million, 3.7 percent above 6M-2018 (USD 45.7 million). While the consolidated exports of the top three PB/MDP exporting countries to Peru grew 7.3 percent from USD 40.5 million in 6M-2018 to USD 43.4 million in 6M-2019.
For Ecuadorian and Brazilian exports of PB/MDP, Colombia was the main destination country with USD 33.1 million and USD 8.05 million respectively. While for Chilean PB/MDP, Mexico was the main export market in the 6M-2019 period. Peru was the second most important destination market for the three main exporting countries.
