GERMANY – In May 2022, Dieffenbacher and 19 organizations from seven countries launched the EcoReFibre project, funded by 12 million euros from the EU, to recycle end-of-life fiberboards.
Nearly two years later, in April 2024, the consortium met at Dieffenbacher in Eppingen and TOMRA in Mülheim-Kärlich to review key findings. The event began with an introduction by Dieffenbacher CEO, Christian Dieffenbacher, and included a tour of Dieffenbacher’s expanded Technical Center.
Demonstrations highlighted the fiberboard recycling processes, refining the material for reuse. The second day focused on wood sorting technologies at TOMRA, where impurities were efficiently separated from recycled wood.
Stergios Adamopoulos, the project consortium leader, concluded the event by acknowledging the significant progress made and the effective collaboration that advanced the EcoReFibre project, expressing satisfaction with the outcomes and the strategic partnership between Dieffenbacher, TOMRA, and other stakeholders.
