CHILE – On July 23-24, 2024, Santiago, Chile, hosted the Missão Comercial Chile 2024, an event aimed at boosting the Latin American furniture market through the Brazilian Furniture Project.

Organized by ABIMÓVEL (Brazilian Association of Furniture Industries) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Agency for Export and Investment Promotion), the event brought together 35 Brazilian companies and 23 international buyers from Chile, Paraguay, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Uruguay, and Mexico.

The mission, designed to strengthen commercial ties and expand the presence of Brazilian furniture in the region, resulted in 323 business meetings. It generated 344 contacts, including 250 new connections, and approximately USD 15.1 million in closed or anticipated deals over the next 12 months.

The success highlights the potential for increasing the presence of Brazilian furniture in various markets, supported by continuous investments in factory modernization, production capacity, material quality, and original design. Additionally, the benefits of the Mercosur free trade agreement, which eliminates tariffs and facilitates market entry, are evident.

With an estimated short- to medium-term growth potential of USD 57.6 million, Brazilian exports to Chile offer significant opportunities, particularly for medium and small companies looking to expand beyond the national market.
