COLOMBIA – Colombia’s wooden furniture exports totaled USD 27.3 million between January and June 2025 (6M-2025), marking a 10.6% decline compared to the same period in 2024, according to customs data.
Performance varied sharply among exporters. Improdema posted the strongest growth, increasing exports by more than six times to USD 2.15 million (+538.2%). Milestone Muebles also expanded significantly with a 179.2% jump to USD 3.04 million. RTA Muebles, the sector leader, grew 13.0% to USD 5.48 million. In contrast, Muebles Jamar, which had been one of the top exporters in 2024, suffered a steep 75.3% drop, with sales falling to USD 1.75 million. Maderkit declined 18.0% and IMA Industrias de Artículos de Madera fell 22.2%.
In terms of destinations, the United States remained Colombia’s largest market at USD 7.0 million, nearly unchanged (-0.1%). Panama, however, contracted sharply by 62.2% to USD 3.24 million. Guatemala nearly doubled imports (+98.2%) to USD 2.05 million, while Jamaica and Nicaragua stood out with strong growth from very low bases. Chile also showed positive momentum with an 8.1% increase, reaching USD 1.77 million. On the other hand, shipments to other markets dropped 20.2%.
Despite the overall decline, the strong results in certain companies and destinations highlight new opportunities for Colombia’s furniture industry, particularly in Central America and the Caribbean.
