ECUADOR – Ecuadorian exports of particleboard / MDP amounted to USD 97.3 million in 2017, an increase of 8.5% compared to 2016 when they reached USD 89.7 million.

Colombia and Peru were once again the main export markets for Ecuador’s particleboard. Consolidated exports to these two markets accounted for 93.9% of total exports in 2017 (2016: 93.1%).

Exports to Colombia were the ones that grew the most and amounted to USD 57.3 million (2016: USD 50.9 million), a strong increase of 12.5%, compared to 2016.

Exports to Peru also had a favorable performance, amounting to USD 34.1 million, representing a growth of 4.6% compared to USD 32.6 million in 2016.

Exports to Panama, the third most important market, had a slight drop of 1.9%, going from USD 2.71 million in 2016 to USD 2.66 million in 2017.

Bolivia, the fourth market, showed a sharp drop of 18.3% to USD 1.31 in 2017 (1Q-2016: USD 1.61).
