CHILE – Chilean exports of particleboard/MDP reached USD 24.8 million in the January-April 2017 period, up 7.1% when compared to USD 23.2 million reached in the same period 2016.

Of the top exporting companies, the leader – Paneles Arauco – increased its particleboard exports in 4M-2017 by 14.3% to USD 16.3 million (4M-2016: USD 14.2 million). Followed by Masisa’s with exports in the first 4M-2017 of USD 8.5 million, down 4.4% against USD 8.9 million of 4M-2016.

Exports to Peru – the main external market for Chilean particleboard/MDP – were down 16.7% from USD 9.2 million in the first 4M-2017 to USD 7.6 million in the same period 2016. Chilean Particleboard/MDP shipments to Mexico, its second foreign market in importance in the 4M period, were up 43.3% from USD 5.2 million in first 4M-2016 to USD 7.5 million in the 4M period 2017. Particleboard/MDP exports to Colombia reached USD 4.9 million in the first 4M-2017, up 8.1% from USD 4.6 million in the same period 2017.
