ITALY – Chile recently inaugurated its pavilion at Expo Milano 2015, which is considered one of the greatest exhibition events at the international level.
The exposition will focus primarily on ideas and solutions centered on the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, motivating participants to use creativity and innovation for a sustainable future. Chile pavilion’s inauguration ceremony was attended by Chancellor Heraldo Muñoz; Chile’s Commissioner General, Lorenzo Constans; Agriculture under-secretary, Claudio Ternicier; and Arauco executives.
This project is a public-private alliance headed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its dependent entities, and sponsored by Arauco, who donated the timber to build the pavilion and is also offsetting the pavilion’s carbon emissions. More than 24 million people are expected to visit Expo Milano 2015.
Charles Kimber, Arauco’s Senior Vice-President Commercial & Corporate Affairs said: “It’s an honor for us to cooperate with the Expo Milano project, not only in terms of sponsorship, but also in building the Chile pavilion with Arauco’s timber, which is a noble and renewable product. This is a very good opportunity to provide a value proposition for such an important product”.
