Brazilian Wooden Furniture Exports Down 15.1% in 2022

BRAZIL – The value of Brazilian wooden furniture exports reached USD 655.66 million in 2022.

1019BRASIL This represented a 15.1 percent drop compared to 2021 (USD 772.02 million).

The United States was once again the main export market for Brazilian wood furniture in 2022, with USD 278.44 million compared to USD 290.01 million in 2021 (-4.0 percent)).

The value of exports to the United Kingdom, the second largest foreign market, reached USD 50.97 million in 2022, a significant drop of 23.9 percent compared to 2021. (USD 67.02 million).

Chile, was the third largest foreign market for Brazilian wood furniture with USD 45.94 million in 2022, compared to USD 98.80 million the previous year, which represented a very sharp drop of 53.5 percent.

Uruguay and Peru remained the main foreign markets for Brazilian wood furniture in 2022, with USD 34.40 million and USD 29.39 million respectively. Exports to Peru fell 41.2 percent compared to 2021, while exports to Uruguay grew 1.6 percent.

Santa Catarina and Rio Grande Do Sul were, as usual, the two main Brazilian wood furniture exporting states in 2022, with USD 311.10 million (2021: USD 334.33 million) and USD 182.56 million (2021: USD 229.71 million). Which represented decreases of 6.9 per cent and 20.5 per cent respectively.
