BRAZIL – Between January and September 2025, Brazil’s particleboard (MDP) exports totaled USD 79.3 million, down 8.8% compared with the same period in 2024, according to customs data.
The decline was driven mainly by lower shipments to China and Peru, although exports to Bolivia and Paraguay showed notable growth.
China remained the top destination with USD 21.6 million, despite a 9.3% decrease. Colombia followed closely, with exports down 1.7% to USD 21.0 million.
Meanwhile, Bolivia registered the strongest increase, rising 31.6% to USD 13.0 million, and Paraguay grew 18.1% to USD 3.6 million.
In contrast, Peru saw a sharp 51% drop, reaching USD 7.0 million, reflecting weaker demand and slower economic activity.
Exports to other destinations fell 10.2%, indicating a broader softening in regional demand. Despite the overall decline, Brazil remains a key supplier of particleboard in Latin America, supported by strong industry capacity and competitive logistics.
