BRAZIL – Brazilian furniture exports reached USD 84,036,270 in the first two months of 2017 compared to USD 77,797,067 in the same period 2016 for an increase of 8% in January – February period.
The United States continued to be the main market for Brazilian furniture exports with USD 20,764,592 that represented an increase of 19.5% compared to the same period 2016. Shipments to Argentina were up 20.8% with USD 9,851,952 (2016: USD 8,155,900) becoming Argentina the second market in importance for Brazilian furniture exports, surpassing the UK which imported USD 9,208,041 compared with USD 13,711,623 in the same period 2016 (-32.8%).
The Paraguay and Chilean markets had the highest growth for Brazilian furniture exports, with growth rates of 86.9% and 41.3% respectively and exported values of USD 4,955,125 to Chile and USD 4,229,580 to Paraguay.
