Brazilian Furniture Exports Up 6.6% in 8M-2017

BRAZIL – Exports of Brazilian furniture reached USD 419.44 million in the January – August 2017 (8M-2017) period, up 6.6% from USD 393.45 in 8M-2016.

760EXPORTBRAZIL The US consolidated as the main export market for Brazilian furniture with USD 110.80 million, an increase of 27% compared to USD 87.26 million in 8M-2016. Altough exports to the UK fell 21% to USD 46.60 million in 8M-2017 (8M-2016: 58.98 million), the United Kingdom was the second export market for Brazilian furniture in the first eight months of 2017.

From a a regional perspective South America was the main market for Brazilian furniture in 8M-2017 with USD 157.91 million up 6.1% compared to USD 148.79 million in 8M-2016. Among South American countries in 8M-2017, Argentina was the main market and third overall, with USD 41.45 million up 1.1% compared to 8M-2016. Followed by Uruguay (USD 28.54 million), Peru (USD 26.85 million), Chile (23.27 million), Paraguay (USD 21.78 million) and Bolivia (USD 16.01 million).
