BRAZIL – Brazilian exports of wooden furniture grew 14.3% in the first ten months (10M) of 2018, reaching USD 422.1 million compared to USD 369.4 million in 10M-2017.
The United States was again the main market for Brazilian exports of wooden furniture in the period, with shipments of USD 136.3 million compared to USD 102.6 million in 10M-2017, a significant growth of 32.8%. The United Kingdom followed with USD 56.1 million compared to USD 57.4 million in the same period of the previous year (-2.2%).
Peru, although with a drop of 6.4%, was the main South American market for Brazilian wooden furniture with USD 31.2 million in 10M-2018 compared to USD 33.3 million in the same period of 2017. Chile with a growth of 7% was the second regional market in importance with USD 26.5 million (10M-2017: USD 24.8 million). They were followed by Uruguay with USD 23 million and an important growth of 10.2% compared to 10M-2017 (USD 20.9 million).
Ecuador was the market with the highest growth for Brazilian wooden furniture as it went from USD 2.4 million in 10M-2017 to USD 4.6 million in 10M-2018, a growth of 96.1%. Colombia was the second fastest growing market with USD 5.2 million in 10M-2018 compared to USD 4.2 million in 10M-2017 (+ 24.3%).
