Brazilian furniture exports fall 6.3% in 7M-2022

BRAZIL – The value of Brazilian wood furniture exports reached USD 392.30 million in the first seven months of 2022 (7M-2022).

1001BRASIL2 This represented a 6.3 percent drop compared to the same period of 2021 (7M-2021: USD 418.89 million).

The United States was again the main export market for Brazilian wood furniture in 7M-2022, with USD 163.16 million compared to USD 153.62 million in 7M-2021 (+6.2%).

The value of exports to Chile, the second largest market, reached USD 32.68 million in 7M-2022 a sharp drop of 38.0 percent compared to the same period last year (7M-2021: USD 52.67 million).

The United Kingdom was the third largest foreign market for Brazilian wood furniture with USD 32.40 million in 7M-2022, compared to USD 38.84 million in the same period last year (-16.6%).

Peru and Uruguay followed as the main export markets for Brazilian wood furniture in 7M-2022, with USD 18.76 million and USD 17.43 million respectively. Exports to Peru fell 32.1 percent compared to the same period in 2021, while exports to Uruguay fell 10.7 percent.

Santa Catarina and Rio Grande Do Sul were, as usual, the two main Brazilian wood furniture exporting states in 7M-2022, with USD 187.83 million (7M-2021: USD 181.58 million) and USD 106.54 million (7M-2021: USD 127.14 million).

Parana and Sao Paulo followed as the main Brazilian wood furniture exporting states in 7M-2022 with USD 54.09 million and USD 32.31 million.
