BRAZIL – Brazilian furniture exports reached USD 601.6 million in 2015, to 12.7% drop compared to USD 689.5 million in 2014.
In 2015 the US maintained its position as the main export market for the second consecutive year, reaching USD 127.8 million compared to USD 114.7 million in 2014. Exports to the US were the only ones that grew (+11.5%) among the main export markets for Brazilian furniture.
The UK and Argentina remained as the second and third export markets although both fell, -4.9% and -20.8% respectively. Among the states, Santa Catarina passed Rio Grande Do Sul as the main furniture exporting state in 2015 with USD 206.4 million, a slight 0.9% improvement compared to USD 204.6 million in 2014. Furniture exports from Rio Grande Do Sul reached USD 183.5 million in 2015 (2014: USD 216.8 million) and were down 15.4%.
