BRAZIL – According to IBA (Industria Brasilera de Arvores) October report, Brazilian domestic board sales reached 525.000 m3 in September compared to 685.000 m3 in September 2014 (- 23.4%).
In September Brazilian board exports were up 30.8% reaching 51.000 m3 and imports were down 90.9% totaling 1.000 m3. Brazilian board consumption totaled 526.000 m3 in September 2015 compared to 696.000 m3 in September 2014 (-24.4%).
For the January – September period, Brazilian board sales reached 4.9 million m3, compared to 5.4 million m3 in the same period 2014. Exports for the year were 440.000 m3, 36.2% higher than same period last year and imports were down 84.8%. Brazilian board consumption in the 9 month period declined 9.3% reaching 4.92 million m3 (2014: 5.42 million m3). September was the sixth consecutive monthly drop in domestic consumption.
