BRAZIL – In August 2017 and according to IBA (Brazilian Tree Industry) monthly bulletin, domestic sales of wood panels in Brazil reached 573 thousand m3, a 7.5% growth against the August 2016 figure (533 thousand m3).

Domestic consumption of wood panels in Brazil in August 2017 – a month in which there were no imports – grew by 7.3% reaching 573 thousand m3 in August 2017 from the 534 m3 reached in August 2016.

Exports of Brazilian wood panels in August 2017 grew 14.7% in volume from 109 thousand m3 in August 2016 to 125 thousand m3 in August 2017. The growth in exported value in the first eight months of the year was 23.2%, going from USD 155 million in the January – August 2016 period to USD 191 million in the same period of 2017.
