GERMANY - With an increase in sales of EUR 177 million, Nobilia, the largest kitchen furniture manufacturer in Europe, once again was able to exceed its previous year's figures.

Sales were up by 11.9 percent to EUR 1.659 billion. Domestic sales in German market contributed with growth of EUR 67.3 million. As a result, Nobilia's domestic sales increased by 9.7 percent and reached a value of EUR 762.8 million in 2022. The export market grew 13.9 percent, sales rose by EUR 109.7 million to EUR 896.3 million. As a result, the export ratio increased to 54 percent. "All in all, it shows again that Nobilia is broadly positioned on foreign markets," explains Dr. Lars M. Bopf, CEO.

Significant cost increases and increasing consumer uncertainty over the course of the year characterized the year 2022 to a considerable extent. "With extensive packages of measures and the high level of commitment on the part of the employees, we have again managed to achieve growth that is above the German kitchen furniture market, even under these special conditions,"  Dr. Bopf commented.

The positive sales development also continued in the production volume. "We have succeeded in increasing our output once again," says Frank Kramer, Technical Director. "In 2022 we manufactured around 8.5 million cabinets." This corresponds to a production output of around 38,650 wooden parts per working day. In addition to the core product kitchen, more and more cupboards for the bathroom, living room and utility rooms as well as cloakrooms have been produced.

Investments in the past financial year amounted to more than 100 million euros. As in the previous year, the focus was on the two plants in Verl and Plant V in Saarlouis (Saarland).

With 4,523 employees at the end of 2022, the number of employees is 250 more than in the previous year.
