COLOMBIA - Increased sales, particularly in the export markets, created the need for RTA Design to make significant investments to improve efficiency and expand production capacity by about 70%.

The Company’s manufacturing headquarters, located in Yumbo, Valle del Cauca, were expanded from  8 thousand square meters to occupy an area of 12,000 square meters. This 40% area expansion was required to accommodate RTA Design’s recent investments in German state of the art technology, which included a multiple drill and two edgebanders supplied by the Homag Group. With these expansions and acquisitions RTA Design is today the most modern ready to assemble furniture factory in the Andean region.

The company, with sales of USD 15.3 million in 2015, expects to close 2016 with sales growth of over 35%. In 2015 exports exceeded USD 3.5 million, with Mexico, Peru, Chile and Costa Rica as the main destinations. In the period January-July 2016 exports of the company are already totaling more than USD 2.4 million. This sustained strategy towards export markets also involved opening distribution centers in Chile, Mexico and the United States, as to penetrate new markets with direct presence, a significant advantage for large retail chains with regional presence, and also for local retailers. Thus today furniture produced by RTA Design can be found in the most representative retailers of North, Central and South America.
