HNI acquires India-based office furniture maker BP Ergo

USA (WWN).- HNI Corp. has acquired BP Ergo Ltd., a large manufacturer of office furniture with headquarters in Mumbai, India. News of the acquisition was announced Aug.

13. According to a statement from HNI, BP Ergo will continue to operate as a stand-alone business. HNI said the acquisition will "have minimal impact on 2012 earnings." HNI recently reported net income of USD 7 million on sales of USD 480.4 million for the second quarter of 2012. Sales for the office furniture segment increased 12.3% to $418.6 million.
