USA (Notifix).- Office furniture manufacturer Herman Miller, announced results for its first quarter of fiscal year 2012 that ended September 3, 2011. The quarter includes
14 weeks of operations as compared to a standard 13-week period. The additional week is required periodically in order to more closely align Herman Miller's fiscal year with the calendar months. The company reported net sales in the first quarter of $458.1 million; an increase of 20.3% from the same quarter in fiscal 2011. Orders in the period of $481.4 million were 22.2% above the prior year level.
