Ikea will not arrive in Mexico

MEXICO (IBTimes).- The Swedish firm of furniture and household goods, Ikea, denied that it would arrive soon in Mexico in response to recent local media reports indicating

that it would do so in Mexico City. According to the newspaper Reforma, the director of public affairs for the company, Joseph Roth, said they will not open stores in Mexico and that for now there are only plans in the Dominican Republic where a store has already openned. "The expansion of the company is done through the chain system, which does not enter a new market until you have a neighbor where the company is sufficiently entrenched," he told the newspaper Reforma.
